When The Teacher Is Ready

A Student Shall Appear.

The Crimson Hunter Shrine has grown and the Exarch has a disciple.

One of the things I was really happy with was the base.

I traced some outlines on very thin plasticard, cut it out, painted it, and then filled in the grooves with basing, primarily static grass.

New Toy

Yesterday I went to the Royal Easter Show in Sydney, and picked up a neat little toy, a phone camera macro lens.

I've taken a number of test shots.

Farseer:

Jain Zar:

Relic Objective:

Command Wave Serpent:

I hope this helps me produce quality shots for the blog.

If you like the pics and have the chance to get a macro lens (probably with a wide angle lens attached and possibly even with a fish eye lens) I'd suggest picking one up.

Winter's Wrath

I've finished the revamped Ulthwe Guardian squad and they appear mighty. I've re-dubbed them Winter's Wrath to better fit their drab grey unit color (Autumn Descent will be a different unit).

Here is the original version:

And the updated version:

And the new members:

I think they make the force look very active and far more dynamic. They also compliment the bastion very well:

Now I just need a chance to bring them to the field of battle!

Touch-Up Day

I had nearly a full day to work on models, so I threw myself in to things. Three projects had been lingering at the back of my head for a while, and I finally got around to them. A number of my units had paint damage from my move so I finally repaired and updated the highlights on a wave serpent, the cobra, and my Crimson Hunter Exarch.

I still want to invest a little more time in its base, but seeing it revised made me want to get two more to replicate a shrine.

I also completed 6 more guardians, so the squad is now 6 models from full size and ready for relaunch.
